New Lenox's Proud American Days Festival Canceled

The festival, which usually attracts around 30,000 people, was supposed to be held at the end of July.

NEW LENOX, IL — The New Lenox Community Park District has announced that the Proud American Days festival is canceled this year. The festival was supposed to take place July 23 to July 26, but has been canceled due to the coronavirus, the park district shared in a post on Facebook.

"While we were looking forward to a great fest this year, the health and safety of our patrons, staff, partners, volunteers, vendors and first responders is, and always will be, our main priority," the park district said.

According to the event website, the festival began in 1984 and usually attracts 30,000 attendees from the Lincoln-Way and Will County area.
