No Injuries in New Lenox House Fire

The fire happened early Thursday in the 200 block of Forest View Drive.

Residents escaped safely from a house fire in the early morning hours Thursday, New Lenox Fire officials said in a release. It took crews one hour to put out the blaze.

Around 3 a.m. a call came into the New Lenox Fire Protection District for a residential structure fire in the 200 block of Forest View Drive.

When the first company arrived on the scene, the one-story residential building had heavy smoke and fire showing from the garage area. Upon further investigation, the NLFPD went into a full-still for a structure fire.

The NLFPD received assistance during the structure fire from several other area fire districts, both on-scene and as extra coverage at stations.

There is heavy damage to the home, total cost of damage in not yet available. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
