No Patients On Ventilators, 17 Confirmed Cases At Silver Cross

NEW LENOX, IL — Hospitalizations due to the coronavirus have increased slightly compared to last week's update from Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox.
Director Of Marketing and Community Relations Debra Robbins told Patch that the hospital has 17 inpatients who have tested positive for the coronavirus and two persons under investigation.
A week ago, the hospital had 12 inpatients who had tested positive and one person under investigation. So, the number of inpatients has increased slightly this week.

Robbins said none of the current inpatients are on ventilators and the hospital has "not had any coronavirus-related deaths in recent days."
Will County remains at warning level from the Illinois Department of Public Health. The county, which is part of region 7, is also nearly a week into the additional restrictions that were issued on Aug. 26.

According to IDPH, the most recent data shows region 7's positivity rate at 8.8 percent, which is above the recommended 8 percent threshold. The region has also had four days of hospital admission increases, with 30 percent of med/surg beds are available and 29 percent of ICU beds available.
