Joseph J. Ulaszek, Jr.
Joseph J. Ulaszek, Jr., age 93, of Naperville and formerly Plainfield, Illinois, passed peacefully early Wednesday morning, October 22, 2025. He was born on December 24, 1931, to the late Helen (Grajkowski) and Joseph J. Ulaszek, Sr. in Chicago, where he was raised and educated.

As a United States Air Force Veteran, Joe served his Country proudly during the Korean War.
Joe was an Electrical Engineer at Motorola and Andrew Corporation. He was a devoted family man who loved to be with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He loved attending plays, sporting activities, and singing silly songs. Joe was also an avid gardener with the most beautiful flowers and had the greenest grass.

In addition to his beloved wife of 69 years, Marilyn (nee Simon), he is also survived by his daughters and sons, Karen (Stanley) Ivas, Susan (William) Haupt, Michael (Gina) Ulaszek, and James (Jennifer) Ulaszek; grandchildren, Nicholas, Jessica, Jeffrey (Erin), Kristina and Daniel Ivas, William J., Jacob, and Nathan (Sicily) Haupt, Douglas (Beth), Patrick (Miranda) and Natalie Ulaszek, Madeline and Grace Ulaszek; as well as 12 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his siblings, Thomas (Nita), John (Ginny), Robert (Lily) Ulaszek, and Joan (Peter) Coster; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ronald Ulaszek; and grandson, Nicholas Ulaszek.
A Memorial Visitation for Joseph J. Ulaszek, Jr. will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until prayers begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd (at Essington Rd) Joliet. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 600 Brookforest Ave (Rt 59), in Shorewood. Private Interment will be held at a later date at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name can be made to the Dementia Society of America and Gentiva Hospice at Gentiva Foundation.
