Obituary: Ruth M. Golden

Mom who loved crocheting sweaters to donate to children in need will be dearly missed.

Obituary was published and funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home and Crematory.

Ruth M. Golden

Ruth M. Golden, age 89, passed away after a long battle with dementia at Alden Courts of Shorewood, on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Ruth was born on June 9, 1935, in Chicago, the daughter of the late Karl Haichert and Olga Tamasy. She lived for many years in Bensenville.

Ruth loved crocheting, making many sweaters for the Fire Department to donate to kids in need. Ruth was a volunteer at Ravenswood Hospital in Chicago for many years. She loved a good game of pinochle, playing the accordion, and above all else loved being with her family.

Ruth is survived by her children, William Golden, and Janet (David) Raila; grandchildren, Rebecca (Michael) Pasqua, Susan (Anthony) Odo, and Benjamin (Kim) Golden; and great grandchildren, Jacob, Isabella, Olivia, Madison, and Sydney.

She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Golden; and her former husband, George Golden.

The family would like to thank Family Centered Hospice and Alden Courts of Shorewood for all of their love, support, and amazing care they gave to Ruth.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Visitation for Ruth M. Golden will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL, from 11:00 am until the time of Funeral Service at 3:00 p.m. As it was her request, cremation rites will be accorded following services.
