Oh, What a Relief It Is...

78 By the tender mercy of our God,

   the dawn from on high will break upon us,

79 to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death,

   to guide our feet into the way of peace.’ ~ Luke 1:78-79 

Peace is a word that comes up so often in the Bible.  Both the Old and New Testaments refer to it often, like a cherished treasure that is sought after, as well as a gift from God.  This gift is something we all look for in our lives, but there is only one way to find it.

God blessed us with His presence through His only Son to come show us the way to peace in our lives.  By following Christ's example of living our lives in service to God, we can truly find the peace within our souls that we so long for.  This peace fills us as we serve God and is such a wonderful feeling to be free of fear and worry so that we can live our lives knowing that all is well when we rest in God's hands.  

God will take care of His children, just as we care for our own children.  Oh, what a relief it is to know that God is there to protect us, guide us and provide for us when we follow and serve Him.  He is all we need for true peace in our lives.

Dear Lord,

Thank You for the peace that only You can give us through Your Son, Jesus Christ.  Amen.
