Update: New Lenox Police Nab Suspect in 'Rifleman' Armed Robbery
Police arrested a 41-year-old New Lenox man Friday in connection with a Feb. 1 armed robbery of a Walgreens in New Lenox.

New Lenox police Friday arrested a man believed to be the “rifle-wielding, working clothes-clad” robber responsible for sticking up a Walgreens store last month.
Christopher Sanders, 41, of the 1200 block of Edmonds in New Lenox, was charged with armed robbery and aggravated robbery for the Feb. 1 crime in which narcotics were stolen from Walgreens, 466 N. Nelson Rd., police said in a press release Friday.
He was taken into custody Friday after New Lenox Police and the Will County Special Operations Group raided his home.

One man is believed to have been responsible for three armed robberies in New Lenox last month—including a Maple Street 7-Eleven and a nearby dry cleaners. New Lenox Police Chief Bob Sterba said Friday it is unclear if Sanders was connected to the other crimes.
Sanders was transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility pending a bond hearing.

New Lenox police have one man in custody Friday afternoon, as authorities execute a search warrant at a home near Francis and Cedar roads.
Tactical units fired a “flash bang” as a diversionary tactic before entering the home Friday morning, in a search pursuant to a criminal investigation, New Lenox Police Chief Bob Sterba told Patch.
