Opening Date Set For New Lenox Favorite Ranch Frostie

NEW LENOX, IL — A New Lenox staple is prepping for its spring opening.

Ranch Frostie, 1259 N. Cedar Rd. will open for the season on Thursday, March 19.

Potocki confirmed the scheduled opening to Patch on Monday, saying that the date falls within the usual timeframe in respect to past seasons. (Yes, she knows there's snow on the ground, but it's supposed to warm up later this week!)

Potocki, who co-owned the local ice cream spot with a business partner since 2018, became its sole owner last year—a change that delayed the opening at the time.

Potocki said she's glad to be back to the usual timeline this spring.

Customers might have noticed some upgrades at the business, and they can expect some changes to the layout, she added.

"It’s going to be a different layout," Potocki told Patch. The people will have to get used to the new layout, which will be so much better for everyone visiting us."

The changes shift the flow of the line and seating, with additional seating also planned later in the season, she said.

"We had a facelift that is still ongoing that will make the quality of everyone’s visit even better," Potocki said.

The business has been part of the New Lenox community for more than 60 years, its website reads.

Throughout those decades, it’s remained a neighborhood staple and a favorite place for friends and neighbors to "gather and enjoy tasty treats."

Ranch Frostie is located at 1259 N. Cedar Rd. As of Thursday, March 19, it's open seven days a week, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
