Over 900 Without Power In New Lenox

New Lenox has hundreds of residents without power after high winds in the area on Tuesday.

NEW LENOX, IL — Over 900 people are without power in New Lenox, according to the ComEd outage map. The map says 961 customers are affected, and there are two outages in New Lenox as of 3:15 p.m.

New Lenox Township also had three power outages reported with 319 customers affected.

Wind gusts in the area could have played a part in the New Lenox outages. The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory from noon to 10 p.m for New Lenox and Will County.

ComEd had not listed a time of estimated restoration for the outages as of 3:15 p.m.

The weather service said wind could blow around unsecured objects, tree limbs could be blown down, and some power outages could occur. Travel will also be difficult for those in high-profile vehicles.
