2. New Lenox Gaming Café Again Hit By Smash-And-Grab Crew: New Lenox Police (patch.com) — New Lenox police say Vino, a wine bar and gaming café on East Lincoln Highway, was struck again by a smash-and-grab crew that shattered the front door and stole cash boxes from gaming machines. Investigators believe the same suspects also hit businesses in Mokena and Palos Hills earlier that morning, and are reviewing the Aug. 28 incident for further action.
   

3. Local Event: NL VFW Tue Bingo Up to $20,820 in Prizes -$100 Bingo Prizes*, $500 Coverall** Public Welcome! (patch.com) — Tuesday nights at New Lenox VFW Post 9545 mean public bingo with thousands in potential cash prizes, progressive raffles, and pull tabs. Doors open at 4 p.m., with games starting at 6 p.m., grill specials, drink deals, and gift-card raffles featuring several New Lenox businesses, plus video slots and plenty of TVs for non-players.
   

4. IHSA football scores: Week 2 in Peoria and central Illinois (mcdonoughvoice.com) — New Lenox's Lincoln-Way West football fans will be glad to know their team shut out Peoria High 35–0 in Week 2 action. The roundup lists scores from Big 12, Mid-Illini, and other central Illinois conferences, giving context on how regional rivals and potential playoff opponents are performing early in the season.
