Playing in the eight-team Sandburg Invitational on Saturday, Providence sophomore Hannah Davis breezed through to win the singles title, while seniors Maggie and Kelly Ruane did the same at doubles beating Sandburg 6-0, 6-1 in the championship game.
At second doubles, Celtic's juniors Elise Morris and Claire Burchett took the second-place medal, losing in the championship game to Lincoln Way North.
The Latin School, which is always one of the top teams in the tournament each year, dropped out on Tuesday and Sandburg tournament officials inserted another team of Sandburg players to fill those empty spots. This allowed Sandburg the opportunity to win more points, which they did, taking first-place in the Invitational.
The Celtics took home the second place trophy plaque.
