Residents Ask LW 210 Board To Remove Tingley
Lincoln-Way 210 Superintendent Scott Tingley defended his past actions during latest board meeting.

NEW LENOX, IL -- Three residents of the Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210 spoke during the public comment part of Thursday night's school board meeting and asked for Superintendent Scott Tingley to be removed, according to a report from the Daily Southtown. But Tingley defended himself in a prepared statement on his actions since becoming superintendent in 2013, which was before the district's financial woes came to light.
Resident Jay Curatolo said the district cannot heal "under the direction of untrustworthy leadership," according to the Southtown report. And that the "true picture of impending doom" was kept secret for a year after a PMA Financial report indicated that and not made public until after the 2015 board election.
Tingley said the PMA information was "contrary" to what the board had led to have believed in the past in distancing himself from the decision not to release it, according to the Southtown.

He did acknowledge that crafting a balanced budget for 2014-2015, after the report had been made, was a mistake.
"Presenting a balanced budget in June 2014 was a result of my own inexperience and in working with the Business Manager at the time," he said.
