Rezoning, Annexation Approved For New Lenox Arby's

The village board approved the annexation and rezoning of a 1.47-acre property at the southwest corner of Route 30 and Tonell Avenue.

NEW LENOX, IL — New Lenox residents could soon see an Arby's restaurant off of Route 30. At its March 9 meeting, the village board approved the annexation and rezoning of a 1.47-acre property at the southwest corner of Route 30 and Tonell Avenue. The developer, Lunan Corporation, is proposing an Arby's restaurant at the site, board documents state.

A final plan for the development will come in front of the board at a later date.

Board documents state the owner of the property will remove tree and brush on the property. There is also a single-family home on the property which will be demolished. The village will reimburse for site clearing in an amount not to exceed $60,000.

The owner of the property also agreed to use "good faith efforts" to employ local vendors and contractors during the construction, management and operation of the restaurant, according to board documents.
