Slammers Fest Everclear Concert Moved To Tinley Park

Mayor Bob O'Dekirk's Facebook page informed people that Joliet Slammers Fest will be moved to Tinley Park

JOLIET, IL — For many weeks, the Joliet Slammers and Tinley Park's 350 Brewing Co. have been promoting the Aug. 10 Slammers Fest at downtown Joliet's DuPage Medical Group Field featuring daylong music from Everclear, Bowling for Soup, Alien Ant Farm, Lights Over Bridgeport and several other bands. But Monday evening, Joliet Mayor Bob O'Dekirk's Facebook page announced that Everclear and the other bands will not be taking stage in downtown Joliet after all.

The mayor's Facebook page called it a "HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT."

The following information was sent to the city from the Joliet Slammers vice president of sales and marketing John Wilson:

"Slammers Fest with Everclear, Bowling for Soup and Alien Ant Farm will be changing venues due to field concerns with staging," the social media post read. "We don't want to take the chance of damaging their new million dollar state of the art turf field ... Slammers Fest will be held at our new venue, 350 Soundstage in Tinley Park. When life hands you lemons you throw a FREE PARTY in your backyard! THIS IS NOW A FREE SHOW! Full refunds will be issued to those awesome people who already purchased tickets."
