School Supplies, Pokémon Cards Stolen From Walmart: Cops

Pool damaged, paint left illegally at Ace Hardware and a DUI on Cedar Road: New Lenox Police Reports.

Theft

An officer was dispatched to the 200 block of Sunset Trail in reference to a theft at 10:15 a.m. on July 10. The complainant advised that landscape materials had been taken from their yard.

Criminal Damage to Property

An officer was dispatched to the 400 block of Ashley Drive at 11:29 p.m. on July 10 in reference to a complaint of criminal damage to property. The complainant advised that unknown person(s) damaged their pool.

An officer was dispatched to the 200 block of E. Woodlawn in reference to a complaint of criminal damage to property at 10:19 p.m. on July 13. The complainant advised that unknown person(s) damaged their fence.

Illegal Dumping of Refuse

An officer was dispatched to the Ace Hardware, 358 Maple St. in reference to a complaint of illegal dumping at 7:07 a.m. on July 10. The complainant advised that the unknown offender(s) arrived after hours and left paint behind the building.

DUI

Michael C. Santoro, 52, of the 200 block of Willow Lane was stopped at Cedar Road and Lenox Street at 2:34 a.m. on July 11 and charged with a DUI and improper lighting. An officer was on patrol and observed an equipment violation on a vehicle. The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. The officer learned that the driver, Santoro, was under the influence of alcohol. Santoro was arrested and transported to the police station.

Retail Theft

Jacob A. Sytsma, 20, of the 2900 block of Star Pass was charged with retail theft at 4:01 p.m. on July 14 at Walmart, 501 E. Lincoln Hwy. An officer met with the complainant and learned that Sytsma had stolen Pokémon cards from the store.

Meghan E. Peters, 19, of the 700 block of Sojourn Road and Jacob J. Kollross, 19, of the 700 block of Tauber Road were both charged with retail theft at 8:24 p.m. on July 14 at Walmart. An officer met with the complainant and learned that Peters and Kollross had stolen school supplies from the store.

Fraud

An officer was dispatched to the Rt. 66 Food and Fuel, 2560 N. Cedar Road in reference to a complaint of fraud at 12:42 a.m. on July 15. The complainant advised that an unknown person used a counterfeit bill to purchase goods.
