Silver Cross Advisory Board Completes Final Pledge Payment to Fund $178,900 in Medical Equipment for Hospital

Encore Resale Shop proceeds help make a difference in the lives of patients and families

The Silver Cross Foundation proudly announces that the Silver Cross Advisory Board has fulfilled its final pledge payment, completing a generous commitment of $178,900 to purchase essential medical equipment that will enhance patient care across multiple departments.

This contribution funded the acquisition of advanced tools and technology, including:

  • AccuVein Finder for 4-3 Med-Surg Patient Care Unit
  • EKG Machine for 5-2 Med-Surg Patient Care Unit
  • Ultrasound Machine for PICC Insertion RN Team
  • Cardiac Imaging Table for Outpatient Testing
  • Defibrillator for Interventional Suite
  • Cross Trainer & Hydro Pro Rower for Cardiac-Pulmonary Rehabilitation Gym
  • Treadmill for Outpatient Rehab – Outpatient Rehabilitation at Silver Cross Health Center – West Joliet
  • E-Stim Ultrasound, Smart Peg Board, Patient Treatment Table for Outpatient Rehabilitation at the Hospital
  • Mobil Arm Support, IOPI Unit and Tactus Therapy for Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit
  • EKG Machine for Homer Glen Outpatient Testing
  • Video Laryngoscope for Homer Glen Emergency Department
  • Paramedic Training Equipment for Silver Cross EMS System
  • 20 Wheelchairs for Volunteer Services/Lobbies

The Silver Cross Advisory Board, a volunteer group of women committed to advancing healthcare in the community, raised these funds through sales at the Encore Shop, an upscale, quality resale boutique located in the Business Center on the northeast corner of the hospital campus (710 Cedar Crossings Drive, New Lenox). The shop has been voted Best Resale Shop in Will County for 2024 and 2025 in the Herald-News Reader’s Choice Awards and has raised more than $1.8 million for Silver Cross Hospital over the past 40 years. This year, the Encore Shop proudly celebrates its 64th anniversary.

The Encore Shop offers new and gently used clothing, antiques, books, household items, jewelry, and seasonal décor, with all proceeds benefiting Silver Cross Hospital. The Shop is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and the first Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Donations can be dropped off during business hours or anytime in the collection bin on the south side of the hospital.
