Silver Cross Breast Center Earns NAPBC Accreditation

The Silver Cross Center for Women's Health & Breast Center combines specialized services for patients with breast disease.

Silver Cross Hospital’s Center for Women’s Health and Breast Center has achieved three-year accreditation from the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC,) a quality program of the American College of Surgeons (ACS).

To achieve voluntary NAPBC accreditation, a breast center must demonstrate compliance with NAPBC standards that look at a center’s leadership, clinical services, research, community outreach, professional education, and quality improvement. Breast centers seeking NAPBC accreditation undergo a site visit every three years.

The Silver Cross Center for Women’s Health and Breast Center brings together specialized services by providing comprehensive healthcare. The Breast Center is located within the Center for Women’s Health for added convenience and smooth continuity of care.

They look at the stage of cancer, its characteristics, and what is the best individual treatment for the patient. All breast cancer cases are reviewed by a team of specialists at Silver Cross Hospital’s weekly Multi-Disciplinary Breast Conference to expedite diagnosis and treatment.

As a NAPBC-accredited center, the Center for Women’s Health and Breast Center is committed to maintaining levels of excellence in the delivery of comprehensive, patient-centered, multidisciplinary care. That means the highest-quality care for patients with breast disease.
