Speedway Employee Stole Cough Syrup, Gift Cards: Police

NEW LENOX, IL -- An employee of the Speedway on Laraway Road in New Lenox was charged with theft after police said he was responsible for stealing multiple items from the store.

New Lenox police charged Austin M. Holt, 18, of the 800 block of Brigantine Drive with theft at 4:34 p.m. on June 29. An officer who was responded was told that an employee, later determined to be Holt, had stolen gift cards and cough syrup worth more than $500.

Holt was transferred to the Will County Adult Detention Facility as a result of his arrest.
