Stranger Danger Case Still Under Investigation
The New Lenox Police Department took to social media to draw attention to the incident.
NEW LENOX, IL - The New Lenox Police Department is still investigating a suspicious incident that happened on Labor Day. Police say two men driving a red sports utility vehicle approached a 5-year-old girl and offered her candy. Police say the incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. in the Hibernia Estates subdivision.
The child was walking near Terrance Drive and Anderson Road when a red vehicle approached and "offered the girl candy in an attempt to lure her into the car," police said. "The girl ran and notified her parents. The vehicle left the area toward Spencer Road."
New Lenox Police say the vehicle may have been a Honda CRV. One person looked to be in his 20s and the other in his 40s, police said.
