Hey fellow community members!
Good news for us!! I was recently hired as the area coordinator for Share America, an organization that brings French and Spanish high school students who are eager to discover more of American culture and the English language over to the United States! I am so excited about this opportunity! As a Lincoln-Way 2004 grad, my French teacher was such an inspiration to me that I went on to major in French in college and study abroad. The experience I had while over there and the memories I shared with my host family are irreplaceable. In fact, I made such a connection with my host family that I have been back a couple of times to visit them and also have brought my family!
Now I get to reciprocate this amazing experience with the next generation! I would LOVE to get the word out to New Lenox, Frankfort & Mokena families and invite them to join in the program and experience something so unique and influential that so few people ever get to do! I want to open the eyes of our cities to new cultures and languages, to make us more aware of what lies beyond, to bring new perspectives to the citizens, to offer something out of the ordinary to our families and high school students, and most importantly to SHARE AMERICA, this amazing country that we live in and of which we are all so proud! The program is truly a win-win for both the student and the host, as both parties will learn, grow and remember forever!
