Surprise Blessings

17I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation as you come to know him, 18so that, with the eyes of your heart enlightened, you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance among the saints, 19and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power for us who believe, according to the working of his great power. ~ Ephesians 1:17-19 

A man who likes to make videos that go "viral" on U-Tube recently learned that a surprise blessing given may turn around and bless you back in return.  He arranged with a local merchant to have a "winning lottery ticket" payoff of $1,000 be made for a phony lottery ticket that he would give to a homeless man, so that he could give this homeless man that amount of money anonymously. He would then direct this homeless man to this merchant's store to see if it was a winner.  The man planning this whole thing would have a camera set up to catch the reaction of the homeless man collecting the "winnings" of this gifted ticket.

When the homeless man "cashed in" his "winning ticket" and he learned of how much he had won, his first response was to turn to the man that had given him the ticket and offered to share the winnings with him.  The gifter of the ticket was so taken aback by this reaction that he was moved to tears and hugged the homeless man for his unselfish response to his "windfall."  A man that had nothing was ready to share with someone that had so much more.   

How often do we think about what we have in comparison to others?  How much are we willing to give up to make someone else happier around us?  How much do we take for granted what God has blessed us with?  It is never too late to have a revelation of what our blessings are and how we can share those blessings with others around us, so that our gifts may glorify God and bring others to the knowledge of His greatness.

Prayer

Dear Father in heaven,

Thank you for all you have blessed me with.  May I always be ready to share these many blessings with others so that, through my generosity of sharing Your many blessings, they may also be drawn to You.  Amen
