Thieves Hit Cooper's Hawk Property: Crime Blotter
Someone was also caught stealing Magic the Gathering Fantasy Playing cards.

NEW LENOX, IL - The following incidents of criminal activity were furnished by the New Lenox Police Department. These incidents occurred during the first week of the month:
OCT. 1
- Police were dispatched to Walmart for a retail theft. The officer learned that the offender, Erika Ross, 29, of the 200 block of South Briggs Street, stole approximately $68 worth of toys from the store. Ross was transported to the NLPD. Ross posted bond and was released.
- Police were sent to the Speedway at 800 West Lincoln Highway for an armed robbery at 11:30 p.m. Two men entered the gas station. One was armed with a handgun and demanded money. The complainant provided cash from the register and the offenders fled the scene.

Police were sent to Walmart where the officer learned that the offender, Robert Gougis, 43, Chicago, stole approximately $105 worth of miscellaneous items from the store. The complainant approached the offender in the parking lot and was able to recover the stolen items. The offender, Gougis, fled the scene prior to the officer’s arrival. The officer located the vehicle the offender was in and conducted a traffic stop. Gougis was arrested and transported to the NLPD. Gougis posted bond and was released.

The officer was dispatched to the Cooper’s Hawk construction site in reference to a theft complaint. The complainant advised that someone stole approximately $500 of plants that were recently planted on the site. Under review by investigations for assignment or closure.
OCT. 6
- Police were sent to the 1000 block of Schoolgate Road in reference to a criminal damage to property. The complainant advised that someone broke windows of their vehicle while it was parked overnight on the street.
- Police were sent to Jewel, 2021 East Laraway Road, for a retail theft. The complainant advised that a man loaded a shopping with approximately $500 worth of alcohol and other items and exited the store without paying for the items. The complainant confronted the offender and the offender fled the scene, leaving the cart and items behind.
- Police were dispatched to the 1700 block of Stonebridge Drive for a criminal damage to property. The complainant advised that someone cut the vinyl windows of their Jeep while it was parked in their driveway overnight.
- Police were dispatched to Walmart. The officer learned that the offender, Jeremy Carson, 26, Park Forest, stole approximately $240 worth of Magic the Gathering Fantasy Playing cards from the store. Carson was detained by the complainant and the property was recovered. Carson was transported to the NLPD. Carson posted bond and was released.
OCT. 7
The officer was dispatched to Jewel. 475 Nelson Road, in reference to a solicitor complaint. The officer made contact with the solicitor, John Bogart, 43. The officer learned that Bogart had an active outstanding Will County Warrant for his arrest. Bogart was transported to the NLPD. Bogart was transferred to the Will County Adult Detention facility.

OCT. 7
Police were sent to the 100 block of Twilight Lane for a residential burglary. The complainant advised that someone forced entry to the front door of their home. The home appeared undisturbed except for the damage to the front door and nothing was reported missing from the residence.
