Unlawful Use Of Weapon, Sanitizer Stolen: New Lenox Reports
New Lenox police reports through June 29.
The following information is from the New Lenox Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.
June 22
- Melanie Wolf, 25, of the 1300 block of O'Connell Circle, was charged with DUI-alcohol and speeding at 1:51 a.m. at Lincoln Highway and Retail Drive. Reports state the officer was on patrol and saw a vehicle speeding, and a traffic stop was conducted. The officer learned Wolf was driving while intoxicated. She was taken to the New Lenox Police Department, posted bond and was released.
- Someone entered an unlocked vehicle overnight in the 400 block of Circlegate Road. Paperwork was taken from the car.

- Someone entered an unlocked car overnight in the 700 block of Bluestone Bay Drive. A backpack and wallet were stolen.
- Someone entered an unlocked vehicle in the 800 block of Eastwind Drive. The car was rummaged through, but nothing appeared to be missing.
June 24
- Someone stole two bags of hand sanitizer from the dispensers at Bentley baseball fields. The loss was over $70.

- Diane Gomez, 19, of Joliet, was charged with retail theft at 6:22 p.m. at Walmart, 501 E. Lincoln Highway. According to reports, the complainant told police that Gomez was in the self-checkout aisle and switched bar codes on several items. The complainant said Gomez paid $6.08 for items that actually cost $30.59.
June 27
- Frank Burt, 30, of Mokena, was charged with unlawful use of a weapon and criminal trespassing at 11:16 p.m. in the 300 block of West Lincoln Highway. According to reports, the officer saw Burt inside a car in the parking lot at White Horse Inn. The officer knew Burt had previously been banned from the property. The officer met with him, and he was taken into custody. While his vehicle was being towed from the scene, a handgun was located inside the car. Burt does not have a FOID card. He was taken to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
