VIDEO: Community Turns Out to Support Fallen Soldier Michael Olivieri

More than 50 residents lined Gougar Road on Thursday to show support for a fallen Homer Glen soldier as his funeral procession made its way through New Lenox.

Pfc. Michael Olivieri, 26, died June 6 in Baghdad after enemies attacked his unit with indirect fire, according to militarytimes.com. The long funeral procession traveled down Gougar Road on its way to the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.

About 50 people stood outside of TJ Lambrecht at the corner of Route 30 and Gougar Road to wave American flags. Other groups gathered further along Gougar.
