Wanted Chicago Woman Caught With 100+ Re-encoded Credit Cards at New Lenox Walmart: Cops

The Chicago woman had made "multiple attempts" to purchase gift cards with re-encoded credit cards, police said.

A Chicago woman trying to score gift cards from the New Lenox Walmart was caught with more than 100 re-encoded credit cards, police said.

Keyuna Thompson, 29, was jailed on charges of burglary and misusing credit cards. She was also arrested on a fugitive warrant out of Wisconsin.

Officers were sent to the Walmart shortly after 8:30 p.m. Saturday after “Thompson made multiple attempts using different credit cards to purchase gift cards,” police said.

“The officers discovered that Thompson was in possession of over 100 credit cards that had been re-encoded,” police said. “Officers further discovered that she was in possession of gift cards she had purchased at Meijer in Mokena, and Target in Matteson and New Lenox.”

Just five days before this, three Chicago women were arrested at the same Walmart when they were allegedly found to be in possession of more than 100 counterfeit credit cards.
