Wanted Suspects Nabbed During 1 A.M. Traffic Stop In New Lenox: Cops

New Lenox police arrested a man accused of striking a cab driver and not paying for the fare: POLICE BLOTTER.

The following information is from the New Lenox Police Department. An arrest is of an indication of guilt.

DUI

Eluterio Tello-Gonzalez, 51, Joliet was charged with a DUI at 9:15 p.m. on Aug. 19. An officer was dispatched to a traffic accident. Upon investigating the traffic accident, officer learned that the driver, Tello-Gonzalez, was under the influence of alcohol.

Richard E. Koschetz, 21, of the 2400 block of Jackson Branch Drive was charged with failure to signal improper lane usage, illegal transportation of alcohol and DUI at 4:16 a.m. on Aug. 27 at Route 30 and Oak Drive. An officer was on patrol and observed traffic violations. The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and learned that the driver, Koschetz, was under the influence of alcohol.

Theft

An officer was dispatched to Mars Medical Supplies at 1:14 p.m. on Aug. 21 in reference to a complaint of a theft. The complainant advised that an unknown offender(s) stole decorative potted planters from the front of the business.

Driving While License Suspended/Outstanding Arrest Warrant

Shakayla Shelby, 26, Joliet was charged with driving while license suspended and on an outstanding warrant and Patrick J. Carter, 31, Joliet was charged on an outstanding warrant during a traffic stop at 1:01 a.m. on Aug. 22 at Route 30 and Nelson Road. An officer was on patrol and observed display equipment violations. The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and learned that the driver, Shelby, was driving with a suspended license and had an outstanding warrant. The officer also learned that the passenger, Carter, had an outstanding warrant.

Burglary to Motor Vehicles

An officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Oak St. at 9:08 a.m. on Aug. 22 in reference to a complaint of a burglary to motor vehicle. The complainant advised that an unknown person went into the unlocked vehicle without permission, taking miscellaneous paperwork. Police responded to a separate report of a burglary to motor vehicle on the same block 14 minutes later.

An officer was dispatched to the 2100 block of Foxwood Drive at 6:22 a.m. on Aug. 28 in reference to a complaint of a burglary to motor vehicle. The complainant advised that an unknown person went into his unlocked vehicle without permission, taking his wallet.

Retail Theft

An officer was dispatched to Walmart in reference to a complaint of retail theft at 1:44 p.m. on Aug. 24. The complainant advised that two black male subjects entered the store and took a black, duel multimedia DVD receiver, from the store without paying for the item.

Christine L. Green, 40, of the 2900 block of Brett Drive was charged with retail theft at 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 24 at Walmart. An officer was dispatched to Walmart in reference to a retail theft. The complainant advised that Green paid for several items however, the complainant observed that Green failed to pay for several other items consisting of $144.43 which she placed in shopping cart. Green was stopped by the complainant upon exiting the store without paying for the items.

Battery

Matthew M. Goggin, 26, Forest Park was charged with battery and theft on Aug. 26 in the 300 block of Maple Road. An officer was running radar and was approached by a taxi cab. The complainant advised that the offender struck him
in the head and neck and would not pay for the cab fare.

Traffic Violation/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Ranaldo M. Askew, 20, Joliet was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia at 3:21 a.m. on Aug. 27 at Route 30 and Gougar Road. An officer was on patrol and witnessed a traffic violation. The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and learned that the driver, Askew, was in possession of drug paraphernalia.
