Man 'Wasn't Feeling Right' After Snorting Cocaine: Niles Reports

Around 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 24, the manager at a retail store in the 5600 block of West Touhy Avenue reported seeing someone walking to the front register with a grocery cart before walking out of the store without paying. The manager said she told the man to stop and he said he was going to get the receipt for two boxes of Claritin before he ran out of the store southbound across Touhy.

Around 4 p.m. on Sept. 25, police were told someone stole a 2015 trailer from the 8800 block of West Golf Road.

A patron at a retail store in the 5700 block of West Touhy Avenue reported that a woman set her groceries down on top of his wallet and put his wallet inside her grocery bag.
THEFT
An employee at a retail store in Golf Mill Center called 911 to report a man had just tried to get change for a counterfeit $100. The man, described as a dark-skinned 25-35 year-old man between 6-foot and 6-foot, 3-inches tall and 160-190 pounds, reportedly grabbed several $20 bills out of a clerk's hand and ran out of the mall after the clerk used a marker to check if the $100 bill he had presented was valid.
ARRESTS/CITATIONS
A 58-year-old Los Angeles, California woman was arrested on Sept. 24 at 12:42 a.m. after she was reportedly clocked driving 65 mph in a 35 mph zone.
Juan C. Sotelo, 20, of the 400 block of North St. Louis Avenue in Chicago, was arrested Sept. 25 at 1:03 a.m. around the 6800 block of West Touhy Avenue and charged with driving under the influence of an intoxicating compound and driving between 26 mph and 34 mph over the legal limit after he was reportedly seen driving 65 mph in a 35 zone.
A 17-year-old Chicago boy was arrested Sept. 25 at 10:20 p.m. near the intersection of Golf Road and Washington Street and charged with possession of controlled substance after police pulled him over for changing lines without first signaling.
A 37-year-old Oak Lawn man was arrested Sept. 26 at 6:02 a.m. after he was involved in a traffic crash and found to have a suspended license.
Francisco D. Ramirez, 25, of the 1700 block of Howard Avenue, Des Plaines, was arrested Sept. 26 at 2:19 a.m. in the 8000 block of North Milwaukee Avenue and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without a valid license and speeding after he was pulled over for driving 51 mph in a 35 mph zone.
Miriam S. Lujan, 20, of the 300 block of Alder Lane, Glen Ellyn, was arrested in the 7300 block of North Melvina Avenue on a Glen Ellyn warrant and charged with criminal trespassing and reckless driving.
Valerie Zitko, 22, of the 22200 block of Bent Bridge Lane, Richmond, Texas was arrested on Sept. 26 at 3:37 p.m. at a retail store in the 8600 block of West Dempster Street and charged with retail theft for allegedly taking a faucet from a display valued at $164.
A 39-year-old Des Plaines man was arrested Sept. 26 at 4:43 p.m. in the 8700 block of West Dempster Street and charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct after police were called to a report of an intoxicated man.
Adrianna Lopez, 34, of the 1300 block of North Ashland Avenue, Chicago, was arrested Sept. 26 at 4:09 p.m. and charged with retail theft and obstructing identification after police were called to the 400 block of Golf Mill Road and reportedly found more than $400 in stolen clothing items at the scene.
Betty Jean Varnado, 65, of the 6300 block of West Touhy Avenue, was arrested Sept. 26 at 6:54 p.m. and charged with criminal trespassing in a retail store in the 6200 block of West Touhy Avenue.
A 25-year-old Skokie man was arrested and charged with driving on a suspended or revoked license after police responded to a traffic crash and found one of the drivers had a suspended license.
A 20-year-old Waukegan man was arrested Sept. 28 at 9:23 a.m. in the 7800 block of North Milwaukee Avenue after he was involved in a traffic crash and found to be driving with a suspended license.
A 48-year-old Bloomington, Illinois woman was arrested Sept. 26 at 4:30 p.m. at the Elk Grove Police Department in connection with a violation of an order of protection involving a phone call allegedly placed to the woman's ex-mother-in-law.
Syed Hussain, 24, of the 9800 block of Glendale Lane, was arrested Sept. 29 at 12:22 a.m. at a bar in the 9000 block of North Milwaukee Avenue. He had been reported to have been snorting cocaine off a table in the patio area and staff at the bar called 911. When police arrived they found about 2 grams of cocaine in his possession. He later requested paramedics because he "wasn't feeling right" and was taken to the hospital. He was billed for the cost of emergency services and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, a felony.
An 18-year-old Chicago man was arrested on Sept. 29 in at 3:03 a.m. and charged with driving without a license after he was pulled over in the 6100 block of Touhy Avenue for driving with only one working headlight. He was also cited for using an electronic device while driving.
Marquesha L. Howard, 24, of the 900 block of North St. Louis Avenue, Chicago, was arrested on Sept. 29 at 3:15 p.m. and charged with felony theft. She worked as a cashier at Walmart and would steal cash from the register. Howard reportedly stole a total of $1,930.
Joshua M. Klepadlo, 20, of the 6900 block of Rosemary Lane, was arrested Sept. 29 at 10:15 p.m. at a gas station in the 6900 block of North Milwaukee Avenue and charged with battery. Police were called to a report of a fight in progress. When they arrived, police were told by a woman that Klepadlo had punched her with a closed fist.
Frank A. Teicher, 18, of the 5200 block of Howard Street in Skokie, was arrested in the same Sept. 29 incident and also charged with battery.
