Bank Robbery At PNC Bank In Niles: Police
A man in a Chicago Cubs hat and sunglasses robbed the Milwaukee Avenue bank by passing a note to a teller Friday morning, Niles police said.

NILES, IL — Investigators are searching for a man who robbed a bank in Niles Friday morning. The man passed a note to a teller announcing a robbery and did not brandish a weapon before fleeing with about $2,000 in cash, police said.
Niles police received a 911 call around 11 a.m. that the PNC Bank at 8990 N. Milwaukee Ave. had just been robbed, according to Cmdr. Robert Tornabene. A suspect was last seen heading west on Ballard Road, but police were unable to find him when they arrived.
The robber was described as 25- to 35-year-old, 5-foot, 9-inch tall white man weighing about 175 to 200 pounds, according to Tornabene. He was wearing a Chicago Cubs baseball hat with a red brim, sunglasses, blue jeans and a two-toned gray and black jacket with a zipper.

The FBI is investigating the incident, Tornabene said. No information was immediately available from the FBI. Anyone with any information about the incident or those involved should contact the Chicago field office of the FBI at 312-421-6700.
