"Battle of the Books" has Begun for Local Students at MGPL

Students from five local schools compete to answer book trivia questions at Morton Grove Public Library.

Students from East Prairie School, Golf Middle School, Jerusalem Lutheran School, Old Orchard Junior High, and Park View School will compete in the 8th annual “Battle of the Books” book trivia competition at Morton Grove Public Library. Students from each school form teams of at least four students from sixth, seventh, and eighth grade. At each meet, or “battle,” teams are asked twenty questions on any of the fifty books that students read to prepare for Battle of the Books. Teams will be able to battle every team once and the team with the highest cumulative score after all fifteen battles will earn the Battle of the Books trophy!

The 2015 Battle of the Books kicked off on February 24 with a head-to-head battle of the two teams from Park View School, when the self-proclaimed team “The Losers” were, in fact, the winners against team “Battle Brains.”

The Battle of the Books trophy and bragging rights are on the line—who will be victorious? Check calendar.mgpl.org for upcoming battle dates and come by to cheer on the students!
