Is suicide an acceptable life's choice?

In a previous blog I talked to you about the fact that some bullying has led to

suicide. Some people beiieve that suicide is immoral under any circumstances;

others believe that whenever death is an alternative to the cruel circumstances of

one's life suicide may be understandable.

Suicide is a human paradox. It is, on the one hand, a sign of power, i.e., the power

to determine one's own destiny; on the other hand, it may be considered the

ultimate sign of weakness. We must however be careful in passing moral

judgement because the condition of his or her life may make the choice of

death a reasonable one.

I hold that suicide is a tragedy brought about by one's feeling of

hopelessness rather than a choice which is subject to moral judgements.
