Brain Trauma Survivor Speaks at the Niles Public Library District

Author, Clark Elliot discusses the inspiring story of his brain plasticity journey at the Niles Public Library District.

Niles Public Library District will host an Author Talk program, featuring Clark Elliot this Saturday, Sept. 24 at 10am.

Clark’s book, The Ghost in My Brain: How a Concussion Stole My Life and How the New Science of Plasticity Helped Me to Get It Back, was a semi-finalist in the non-fiction awards section. This book is an inspiring story that gives hope to all who have suffered the serious side effects of a concussion or brain trauma.

After years of suffering and barely being able to manage day-to-day activity, Clark Elliot was on the verge of giving up custody of his children, giving up his tenure as a professor at DePaul University, and becoming a ward of the state. Using his last remaining funds, he hired someone to research brain plasticity. He found two people who could and did help him. Elliot refused to accept the verdict of the medical establishment and found a way to get better. Clark Elliott is now completely recovered and this book is the story of his journey.
