Dee Park Recreation Center Renovations Underway
Residents will enjoy the updated facilities when work is completed next month.

Dee Park Rec Center Renovations Proceeding Nicely
Improvements at Dee Park, Dee and Emerson Roads, in unincorporated
Maine Township are proceeding nicely according to Executive Director
John Jekot. The project called Dee Park Recreation Center Renovation is
expected to run around $300,000 with completion around Nov. 1, 2016.
The project was awarded to Orbis Construction based out of McHenry.
The money financing this project is coming from bond money that was
approved by the Park Board in 2013. No grant money is being used for
this project, Jekot said.

The scope includes exterior site improvements to control flooding,
office and multipurpose room renovations, garage gutters/downspout
installation (the current garage had none), east entrance improvements
and west foyer HVAC unit replacement.
One of the plans for the multi-purpose room use is to create kids
birthday theme parties that are currently being developed by park staff
and will be rolled out at the start of the new year.

“The Board and staff of the park district are excited to have these

results of this project,” Jekot said. He noted that further
improvements to the grounds and outdoor facilities are pending.
