Two women lost their lives in a morning two car crash between a silver Honda Accord and a Cook County Sheriff's Ford Taurus.

Two women lost their lives in a morning two car crash between a silver Honda Accord and a Cook County Sheriff's Ford Taurus.

The women who died were Polish sisters who worked as a cleaning crew at local businesses during the night shift and were coming home from a night shift.

This reporter spoke to people at the scene and those witnesses were not sure which way the vehicles were going at time of impact.

The debris field from the two vehicles spanned the entire intersection, with the front bumper cover from the Sheriff's Taurus coming off on Harlem.

Judging by the damage and deaths, the impact had to have been tremendous and weather may have played a factor as it was raining out with slick driving conditions at the time.

Dempster was shut down between Notre Dame and Shermer, Harlem shut down from Main north past Dempster.

Local CBS affiliate was on-site reporting as well.

UPDATE: This reporter called the number listed and spoke to a concerned relative as well as spoke to a Morton Grove police officer who confirmed the Cook County Sheriff was at fault.

Now charges have been formally brought against the Sheriff in this accident.
