Housing Choices in Retirement

Karen Chan, University of Illinois Extension, will kick off Money Smart Week at MGPL with a practical guide to planning for the future. Where do you want to live during your retirement? Is a move in your future? Or maybe you’re helping a parent with these decisions? It can be daunting. This workshop from University of Illinois Extension will help you evaluate your options. You will receive tools to help you:

- predict how well your current home will meet your needs as you age,

- carefully compare retirement housing communities you might be considering, including continuing care retirement communities and assisted living facilities, and

- estimate your budget under different scenarios.
