Film Lovers Revel In Oscar Night
Party-goers flock to the "Oscar Wild" Party in Niles and celebrate with trivia contests and drooling over George Clooney and Brad Pitt. Well, OK, no one actually drooled.
As the Oscar Wild Party kicked off Sunday night at the Niles Public Library, Debbie Holowicki picked--correctly, as it turned out--The Artist to win the Best Picture award at the 2012 Academy Awards.
"I wanted The Help to win, but it's not going to. I didn't like Moneyball at all. I liked the music and scenery in Midnight in Paris," she said.

Not everyone agreed with her. Josephine Lay picked The Descendants to win Best Picture.
Eileen Gustafson picked The Help.

Connie Guzek went for Moneyball while husband Bill picked The Artist.
And Michelle Rubino also chose The Artist as the Best Picture winner. She also nailed Meryl Streep as the Best Actress winner.
Whether they got it right or not, the more than 100 people in attendance got to answer trivia questions posed by Cecilia Cygnar of the library, who is also Niles Patch's film reviewer.
Cecilia, by the way, did very well in her predictions, making the right calls for Best Picture, Best Actress, Best Director and Best Supporting Actor.
