Heroin Delivery Charge For Glenview Man; Ruse Burglary: Blotter

Incidents and arrests from the Morton Grove Police Blotter: Sept. 8 - Sept. 16

MORTON GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Morton Grove Police Department as a record of police activity and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

CAR BURGLARIES

  • On Sept. 3, the owner of a car parked in the 8400 block of Lehigh Avenue reported that someone walked from the Metra lot and broke into his car, stealing two bags of tools. The incident was captured on security cameras.
  • On Sept. 4, the owner of a car parked in the parking lot of the Menards, 6301 Oakton St., reported that someone broke into his car and stole a chair saw. Officers found security video showing a man in a white conversion van parked next to the vehicle at the time of the theft.

RETAIL THEFT
An employee at the Walgreens, 9301 Waukegan Road, reported on Sept. 6 that a man came into the store and started filling up a bag with multiple packages of razors. The man ran away when the staffer approached him, getting into a white Nissan Maxima or Altima in the parking lot driven by a second man.

LOCKER THEFT
A patron at the LA Fitness at 6821 W. Dempster St. reported on Sept. 8 that someone had removed a keypad lock from a locker and stolen a wallet.

TOOL THEFT
A painter working on a house in the 7600 block of Davis Street reported on Sept. 8 that someone stole three buckets of tools from the parkway while he was at the store.

'RUSE' HOME BURGLARY
A resident in the 9000 block of Oleander Avenue reported that a home was burglarized after two men pulled up in a recent model of a silver GMC pickup truck while a couple sat in their garage. One man offered to fix the roof and distracted the residents while the other man burglarized their house.

RETAIL THEFT
Staff at the Menards reported on Sept. 11 that a man picked up various items from the store and walked out without paying.


ARRESTS/CITATIONS

A 26-year-old Chicago man was arrested on Aug. 27 in the 9400 block of Central Avenue and charged with driving with a suspended license after he was pulled over for an unspecified traffic offense.

A 39-year-old Morton Grove man was arrested on Aug. 28 near the intersection of Dempster and Grand streets and charged with driving with a revoked license after he was pulled over for an unspecified traffic offense.

Raynardo O. Gonzalez, 47, of the 3400 block of Linneman Street in Glenview was arrested in the parking lot of a flower shop in the area of Dundee and Wolf roads on Aug. 31 while conducting a hand-to-hand drug sale involved suspected heroin and fentanyl following an investigation by multiple agencies. Police found a small amount of suspected heroin and 20 Oxycodone pills in his vehicle. More pills and 20 grams of suspected heroin/fentanyl, as well as more pills and a small amount of cannabis, was found at his home after investigators obtained a search warrant. He was charged with four counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and four counts of possession of a controlled substance.

Alejandro Magdaleno, 45, of the 8800 block of Meade Avenue was arrested on Sept. 4 in his block of residence and charged with violation of an active order of protection. He was reportedly intoxicated when he violated a court order by going to a protected address.

A 34-year-old Des Plaines man was arrested on Sept. 5 in the 9200 block of Central Avenue and charged with driving without a valid license after he was pulled over for an unspecified traffic offense.

A 47-year-old Skokie man was arrested on Sept. 6 and charged with driving with a suspended license following a traffic crash near the intersection of Oakton Street and Natchez Avenue.
