Illinois Bone & Joint Institute Welcomes Dr. Kevin Chen
Physician specializing in hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder care joins local orthopaedic specialty practice
Illinois Bone & Joint Institute (IBJI) is pleased to welcome Dr. Kevin Chen. Dr. Chen specializes in hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder surgery. He completed his fellowship training at a busy trauma center in Milwaukee and is looking forward to working with patients here in the Chicago area.
Dr. Chen treats arthritic and chronic conditions as well as rotator cuff tears, shoulder and elbow instability, tennis and golfers elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, and repetitive motion sports injuries. He is among the few surgeons trained in complex elbow replacement surgery, a technique that is now achieving excellent results for many patients.
Dr. Chen believes surgery is a last resort. He performs minimally invasive arthroscopy to treat many problems and works closely with therapists, pain management specialists and others to restore patients to their best function, non-surgically.

Dr. Chen builds strong relationships with his patients and believes in educating patients about all their options so they can make well-informed decisions about their care. Dr. Chen is very active and likes to swim, hike, play tennis, and compete in Ultimate Frisbee. He is seeing patients at IBJI’s Morton Grove and Chicago locations. He will also be seeing patients at IBJI’s new location in Lincolnwood, scheduled to open later this month.
