Is it really asking too much?....

To expect our Illinois congress to

understand our feelings of disgust, anger and frustration,

every time they vote against any gun violence legislation that could save the lives of our precious children, hundreds of whom have died needlessly from senseless gun violence!

Is it really too much to hope that our representatives will feel this anguish as well?

Families forever ripped apart over brutal and inhumane murders;

Families torn asunder by suicides or by accidental deaths, because of the easy accessibility of guns?

These women and men,

These Republicans - and Democrats,

Who, year after year, when bills are submitted in Springfield,

SHOOT THEM DOWN!

HOW DO THEY SLEEP AT NIGHT?

Don't THEY have children and grandchildren?

Don't they realize that this evil, this horrific epidemic of GUN VIOLENCE can, and may, eventually hit home?

Can't they understand that poor folks cherish their families too?

We elect these people!

Our tax dollars pay their salaries and allow them to return to their comfortable, safe neighborhood and homes!

Is it really too much to hope for their understanding that the scourge of gun violence destroys so much?

Is it really too much to hope for and to expect them to do the job they were elected to do?

And that job is: TO SERVE AND PROTECT THE CITIZENS OF ILLINOIS
