Members don’t just study communication and leadership concepts—they actively practice them through structured meetings, real-time feedback, and leadership opportunities that mirror real-world challenges. From first-time speakers finding their voice to experienced professionals refining their executive presence, District 30 provides a space where growth is both intentional and measurable. Beyond individual development, District 30 fosters strong community connections. Its clubs create opportunities for collaboration, mentorship, and relationship-building across communities, industries, and backgrounds. District-wide events, including training sessions, speech contests, and the annual conference, bring members together to exchange ideas, celebrate achievements, and expand their impact. District 30 also strengthens the broader community by equipping individuals with skills that translate directly into the workplace and civic life. Members become more effective leaders, clearer communicators, and more engaged contributors within their organizations and communities. At its core, District 30 Toastmasters is about transformation—helping individuals move from hesitation to confidence, from ideas to action, and from potential to purposeful leadership. Membership is open to adults 18 and older. Youth Leadership programs are periodically offered for those under 18.

PEER Services provides community-based substance use prevention and treatment services to teens, adults and families in Northern Cook County, including Evanston, Maine, New Trier, Niles and Northfield Townships, and the north side of Chicago. The warm summer nights, the sounds of music, the delicious food all around, that feeling like you’re on a Greek island. It can only mean one thing - the perfect start to summer at the Lincoln Square Greek Fest! Join us June 12th through June 14th at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church of Chicago, located at 2727 W Winona in Lincoln Square.&nbsp; 
Come enjoy authentic Greek food and pastries like Greek style chicken, gyros, shish kebabs, baklava and more. There will also be market place vendors, great live music &amp; dancing, and a kid zone! Parking will be available next door at Swedish Hospital.&nbsp; Dine in or carry out all weekend long.
Live music on Friday night features Cretan Youth of Chicago, Girldad, and Northside.

Skokie, IL — Old Orchard Nissan Honors gives police, firefighters, EMTs, paramedics and 911 dispatchers a free oil change and car wash June 15–20
Active first responders across the Chicago area can get a free oil change and car wash in Skokie this June, with no purchase necessary.
The program is called Old Orchard Nissan Honors, and it runs Monday, June 15 through Saturday, June 20, 2026. It is open to active police officers, firefighters, EMTs, paramedics and 911 dispatchers from any department — not just those in Skokie, Niles, Morton Grove, Evanston or Lincolnwood. First responders from anywhere in the Chicago area are welcome.
Here is how it works. Eligible first responders bring their vehicle to the <a href="https://www.oldorchardnissan.com/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Old Orchard Nissan</a> service department during the launch week and show an active work ID at drop-off. They receive a free oil change — up to five quarts of oil with a new filter — and a complimentary car wash. The offer covers most makes and models, so a non-Nissan vehicle is fine, though trucks, diesel engines and V8 engines are not eligible. Work is done by the dealership’s certified technicians.
An appointment is recommended to keep wait times down, though walk-ins will be accepted. Spots are limited and offered first come, first served. First responders are encouraged to call the service department to check availability and book a time.
“We wanted to thank the people who take care of our neighborhoods, and this is a simple, real way to do it,” said Tim McKay, Fixed Operations Director at Old Orchard Nissan. “If you’re a first responder, give us a call to set up a time that week, and we’ll take care of the rest.”
Old Orchard Nissan Honors is what the dealership describes as its first formally named community program, and the plan is to bring it back every June. Details are available at oldorchardnissan.com.
Program details: Valid June 15–20, 2026, at Old Orchard Nissan, 5240 Golf Road, Skokie, IL 60077. Open to active first responders with a valid work ID. One offer per eligible first responder. No purchase required. Most makes and models eligible; excludes trucks, diesel engines and V8 engines. Offer available while capacity lasts.
