Massive Community Celebration - The Neighborhood Connection Project is Finished!! - ALL Are Invited on Sat, 8/29 - 9am-12pm
Come celebrate with neighbors in both city and suburbs the completion of this wonderful bricolage tile mural...
After 5 1/2 years, this is it folks - the Neighborhood Connection Project (NCP) is now finished. My son Jean-Luc and I were out yesterday sharing the news with neighbors (he even missed the Cubs game to spread the word) and look for more people coming around this week to do the same. Downtown Edgebrook businesses are also helping to pass out our NCP celebration postcards with all the details. In case you do not get one, here’s the info:
NCP Final Community Celebration - Saturday, August 29, 9am-12pm at the Metra Underpass at Kinzua, Hiawatha and Lehigh. ALL are invited no matter how much you did, how much you gave or how much you shared or if you did anything at all - we are community. We’ll spend time taking in the completed mural and visiting with each other as neighbors.
Then, about midway through the time (10-10:30am) we’ll gather together to say a few words, share some stories and keep building community - that’s what NCP is all about anyway - a citizen-led initiative to build community.
What we need from you is...you!
What else we need from you is...a podium (do you have one?), outdoor microphone and speaker (can you help us out here?), a few pallets to stand on (can you bring 2-3 over?), tables (5-6), chairs (40), food and drink (enough to share!). This is community so we need a bunch of neighbors to help out here. Can you do it? Bring what you can and we’ll figure it out when everybody arrives.
