3rd Annual Pie Contest
Saturday, June 29th
Market Hours: 8 am - 12 pm
Pie Entries are due by 10:45 am
Pie Contest Judging starts at 11 am
- Fresh, local produce including STRAWBERRIES, RASPBERRIES, SPINACH, LETTUCE, BROCCOLI, RADISHES, and HOOP HOUSE TOMATOES. Zucchini, beans, cabbage and eggplant coming soon!
- Prepared foods, bakery items, meat, eggs and cheeses
- Artisan crafts and goods
- Featured Vendor: Diana's Whoopie Pies
- Entertainment: Wild Onion String Band (9 am - 12 pm)
- Community Groups: Morton Grove Garden Club and Morton Grove Days Commission. The Morton Grove Historical Museum and Education Center will be OPEN from 9 am - 12 pm.

The PRIZES are as follows:
- First Place: $50 in Market Bucks, a copy of Homemade with Love, autographed by the author Jennifer Perillo, and a copy of Farmers' Markets of the Heartland by Janine MacLachlan. Janine MacLachlan was one of our 2012 Pie Contest Judges!
- Second Place: $20 in Market Bucks and a copy of Farmers' Markets of the Heartland by Janine MacLachlan.
- Third Place: $10 in Market Bucks and a copy of Farmers' Markets of the Heartland by Janine MacLachlan.
- Morton Grove Village President Dan DiMaria - Mayor DiMaria is a strong supporter of this Farmers' Market and our commitment to encouraging healthy eating and community building.

Thank you in advance to the additional volunteers who will help run the contest, slice the pies, and help collect donations for the Niles Township Food Pantry.

Pie Contest Contestant Entry Form:
Print and complete this form and bring it to the Market with your 2 pies this Saturday BEFORE 10:45 am! Copies will be available at the Welcome Booth as well.
Pie Contest Rules:
- Open to amateur bakers of all ages. One entry per person.
- Bring two identical pies: one for appearance, one for judge tasting.
- Fresh or frozen fruit only-no dairy or eggs permitted.
- Crust and filling must be homemade.
- Accepted size range is 7" - 10." Pies must be round.
- Pies must be at the judges' table NO LATER than 10:45 am on Saturday, June 29.
- Winner must be present during 11 a.m. judging.
- Winners will receive prizes and accolades!
- Pies will be sliced and sold to Market customers after judging to raise funds for the local food pantry.
