North Chicago fatal traffic accident

On Friday, March 29, 2019, at approximately 12:20pm there was a fatal vehicle collision at the intersection of IL 137 and IL 43 in North Chicago, across from Abbott park.

A blue Dodge minivan collided with a black Mitsubishi Eclipse, rendering a passenger in the Eclipse deceased.

The associated roads in the area were blocked for several hours while authorities conducted a crash investigation.

Authorities confirmed on the spot that a fatality had occurred as the Eclipse was covered with a tarp to obfuscate the deceased inside that vehicle.

The vehicles in question had to be traveling at high rates of speed for such enormous damage to occur, although this was not immediately confirmed by any authorities on the scene.

A witness, who was traveling east on 43 at the light at the time of the accident, stated that the Eclipse had to have been going between 60-80mph through a solid red light

The sound was like if a bomb went off, as this reporter was only a couple of blocks away when the accident occurred.
