Skokie School District 69 Names New Superintendent

Margaret Clauson, assistant chief of Wilmette Schools, will begin in new role on July 1.

Current Wilmette School District 39 Assistant Superintendent Margaret Clauson has been hired as the next superintendent of the Skokie School District 69.

The District board made the appointment official this week, tabbing Clauson to fill the void left by outgoing superintendent Quintin Shepherd on July 1 at $196,000 a year.

According to the Skokie Review, Clauson has prior ties to Skokie - previously serving as a principal for District 68.

“I’m excited to work in this great community and to have the opportunity to help expand on the excellence in District 69,” she said. “I have a lot of terrific goals and I’m looking forward to getting to know the district.”

Shepherd is leaving following this school year to become superintendent of Linn-Mar Community School District in Marion, Iowa - a suburb of Cedar Falls.
