St. John Brebeuf Kicks Off Music Concert Series Sept. 8
St. John Brebeuf Parish has been serving the greater Niles area for 60 years. Many activities and special events are planned during 2013 as part of the 60th anniversary celebrations.
As part of the year long celebration of its 60th Anniversary, St. John Brebeuf (SJB) parish is premiering a concert series starting Sunday, Sept. 8 at 3 p.m. All concerts will be held in the Church, 8307 N. Harlem Ave., Niles.
The first concert to be performed is "Musica Lumina" featuring a piano quintet with Pianist Marek Rachelski, Violinist Therese Parisoli and special guest artist the sensational clarinetist Katia Waxman. Ewa Kowcz-Fair will be the guest soprano. The program includes the Shubert "Trout" Quintet and another by the French composer Boisdeffre.
Tickets are $15 in advance and are available at the Parish Office and at the door. Children under 15 will be admitted at no charge.
