The Musica Lumina 2015-16 concert series continues Tuesday, Dec. 1, at 7 p.m. with the third annual Do-it-Yourself Messiah at St. John Brebeuf Church in Niles. The Do-it Yourself Messiah is the second of three commemorative concerts given in honor of the legacy of the Rev. Stanley Rudcki, the former chair of the Niles College Department of Fine Arts, who founded the Niles Concert Choir and the Niles Symphony Orchestra in the 1960s. There is no admission charge, but a free-will offering will be taken.
Sponsored by Relevant Radio, the nine concert 2015-16 series organized by SJB Music Director Marek Rachelski will also include five remaining concerts. They are Quintet Attacca on Sunday, Jan. 17, at 3 p.m.; Avanti Guitar Trio on Sunday, Feb. 21, at 3 p.m.; Mozart: Mass in C Minor, K. 427, on Sunday, March 20, at 3 p.m.; Kantorei: The Singing Boys of Rockford on Sunday, April 24 at 3 p.m. and Musica Lumina: Music from the Slavic World on Sunday, May 15, at 3 p.m.
