Stolen Car Warrant; Shoplifter ID'd: Morton Grove Crime Reports

MORTON GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Morton Grove Police Department as a record of police activity. Readers are reminded that an arrest by the police does not constitute a finding of guilt, criminal charges — representing merely accusations by the state — are often dropped or reduced and all persons named are presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

ARRESTS

Jacob J. Brown, 20, of the 9500 block of Debbie Lane, Orland Park, was arrested on Jan. 23 near the intersection of Luna Avenue and Lake Street after police "made contact" with him and found he had an active Cook County arrest warrant for possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

A 23-year-old Riverdale man was arrested on Jan. 23 and charged with driving on a suspended license after he was pulled over for a traffic violation near the intersection between Fernald and Capulina avenues.

A 32-year-old Niles man was arrested and charged with driving on a revoked driver's license on Jan. 25 after he was pulled over for a traffic violation near the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Dempster Street.

A 55-year-old Skokie woman was arrested and charged with driving on a suspended license in the 9200 block of Central Avenue following a traffic stop on Jan. 26.

A 57-year-old Park Ridge woman was pulled over near the intersection of National Avenue and Dempster Street and charged with driving with a revoked license on Jan. 26.

Jeffrey S. Russell, 38, of the 3100 block of West Fargo Avenue, Chicago, was charged with retail theft after he was identified by police as the culprit in a TJ Maxx shoplifting incident and turned himself in at the Morton Grove Police Department.

Yobany Castro-Tellez, 23, of the 4600 block of West Warwick Avenue, Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a Jan. 31 traffic stop near the intersection of Oswego Avenue and Dempster Street.
