Update: Giordano's Staying Open in Morton Grove
Morton Grove Patch gets the latest on its local establishment of the pizza chain.
It was 1987 when Morton Grovers first tasted Giordano's pizza in their hometown. The Chicago-based pizza company opened up its Morton Grove location more than 20 years ago.
On Thursday Giordano's, with a location on Dempster Street, sought Chapter 11 protection, saying in court papers it had “an urgent and immediate need for cash to continue to operate.”
According to the Wall Street Journal, Giordano's "owes more than $45 million to lender Fifth Third Bank."
