NILES, IL — The following information comes from the Niles Police Department as a record of police activity and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent mere accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. All persons named are presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

STOLEN CAR
Someone stole a vehicle from the 6800 block of North Lexington Lane between 8 p.m. June 8 and 5:10 p.m. June 9. A stroller, two car seats and two tricycles were inside the vehicle while it was stolen.

SHOPLIFTING/STRUGGLE
An off-duty police officer tried to stop a man who had walked out of the Home Depot, 8650 Dempster St., without paying for various items. A struggle ensued, and the thief and his getaway driver fled the area. A temporary license plate and $1,426 worth of stolen items were recovered.

UPSKIRT FILMING/BATTERY
A woman at the Dollar Tree, 7255 N. Harlem Ave., reported shortly after 3:30 p.m. on June 14 that an unidentified man had been using his cellphone to record video of underneath her skirt. She reported seeing him on his knees with the phone in the ground facing toward her, and when he got up she noticed his phone was on video record mode. She tried to grab his phone and call the police and stop him from leaving. He exited the store and they got into a scuffle before the man fled the scene.

FLEEING POLICE
At 4:13 a.m. on June 14, police on patrol near the intersection of Touhy and Lehigh avenues noticed three vehicles matching the description of suspects in a series of car burglaries in Morton Grove speeding. Police tried to stop the vehicles, but they fled at a high rate of speed southbound on North Caldwell Avenue toward Devon Avenue. Chicago police were notified.

IMPERSONATING POLICE
Someone reportedly impersonated an office between 11:30 a.m. and noon on June 24. The man in a silver vehicle made a hand gesture depicting a gun and followed another driver into a parking lot in the 9000 block of North Milwaukee Avenue and confronted them. The license plate was written down and police are investigating.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Robin M. Rodrian, 19, of the 900 block of Wedel Lane in Glenview, was arrested at 10:30 p.m. on May 31 in the 7600 block of North Oleander Avenue by police investigating a suspicious occupied vehicle. She was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of between 30 and 100 grams of cannabis and possession of any substance with intent to deliver. She was reportedly found with 68.5 grams of suspected marijuana-infused gummy bears, 19.3 pills of Xanax, 16.1 grams of cannabis, 14.5 grams of cannabis wax, a scale and some sandwich bags.

Georgi A. Angelov, 27, of the 9000 block of North Clifton Street in Niles, was arrested at 12:18 p.m. on June 1 and charged with domestic battery after reportedly beating a woman, sending her to Lutheran General Hospital. His white van was later stopped at Clifton Street and he was taken into custody.

Nenif Oshana, 26, of the 2500 block of West Berwyn Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 4:30 a.m. on June 3 in the parking lot of a taqueria in the 9000 block of North Milwaukee Avenue and charged with aggravated unlawful use of a firearm and aggravated assault after pulling out a semi-automatic rifle amid a dispute over cutting in line. Bernard Berg, 52, of the 7400 block of Skokie Boulevard in Skokie, was arrested at 8 p.m. on June 4 outside a yogurt shop in the 5600 block of Touhy Avenue and charged with violation of an order of protection and public intoxication.

Mark T. Dunbar, 41, of the 4000 block of North Central Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 9:30 p.m. on June 4 in the 7200 block of North Caldwell Avenue and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and obstructing identification. He refused to perform field sobriety tests after police found seven empty beer cans in his car.

Alac N. Horvath, 21, of the 8400 block of Dempster Street in Niles, was arrested at 1:04 a.m. on June 5 on two active arrest warrants at his home after police were called to his home.

Andrea L. Poster, 28, of the 2100 block of West Roosevelt Road in Wheaton, was arrested at 5:30 p.m. on June 5 at the Target, 2002 Golf Mill Center, and charged with retail theft after she was seen taking a large handbag from a rack, hiding clothes in it and walking out of the store. The total amount stolen was reported to be $293.81.

Stephanie A. Arias, 26, of the 2100 block of North Sawyer Avenue in Chicago, was arrested shortly after 9 p.m. on June 14 in the 7600 block of North Milwaukee Avenue and charged with obstructing identification, driving with a suspended license, unlawful display of registration. She was also cited for illegal transportation of alcohol.

Javier Martinez, 23, of the 8100 block of Greenwood Avenue in Niles, Adrian Velazquez, 24, of the 9400 block of Terrance Place in Des Plaines, Jargalsaikhan Boldbaatar, 28, of the 1600 block of Mission Hills in Northbrook, and Dulguun Enkhsaikhan, 28, of the 9000 block of West Golf Road in Des Plaines and (removed), 33, of the 1100 block of Grove Avenue in Bensenville, were arrested around 3 a.m on June 15 and charged with mob action – assembly for an unlawful act after police were called to Chaser's Bar, 9003 N. Milwaukee Ave. After police arrived several cars fled the scene, with one involved in a hit-and-run traffic crash. Zolbayar Batchuluun, 27, of the 100 block of Villa Verde Drive in Buffalo Grove, turned himself in around 11 a.m. that morning and was also charged with mob action. All the men were also cited for public intoxication and the cost of providing emergency services.

Lazaro Espino, 24, of the 4500 block of Central Park Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 2:36 a.m. on June 17 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or more after being pulled over in the 7300 block of North Milwaukee Avenue for speeding 52 mph in a 35 mph zone.

Steven L. Malok, 66, of the 8100 block of North Octavia Avenue in Niles, was arrested at 6:50 p.m. on June 18 at him home and charged with disorderly conduct after leaving a threatening voicemail with the Niles finance director regarding the bill for his water service, which was due to be shut off. He reportedly said it would be an "eye for an eye" and the village official should "think about what that means."

Wayne H. Dang, 32, of the 1700 block of Farwell Avenue in Des Plaines was arrested at 1:02 a.m. on June 19 at the Walmart, 5630 W. Touhy Ave., after a man was reported to be exposing his genitalia in the store. An investigation revealed Dang exposed his penis to a woman twice while shopping. He was also cited for possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia.

Darrious J. Jackson, 24, of the 4800 block of North Winthrop Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 10:46 a.m. on June 19 after police were called to a report of a battery near the intersection of West Harts Road and North Franks Avenue. Police were told he punched a woman in the face and threw her to the ground, and when her mother intervened he grabbed her and shoved her out of the way before fleeing. Jackson was later located, arrested and charged with battery and domestic battery. He also had an active arrest warrant in connection with an earlier incident of domestic battery and criminal damage.

Resa R. Dela Cruz, 34, of the 100 block of Wilmette Avenue, was arrested at 6:17 p.m. on June 20 at the Target, 2002 Golf Mill Rd., and charged with retail theft after she was seen in video swapping price tags on items before ringing them up.

Kent A. Miller, 18, of the 1100 block of Auburn Lane in Buffalo Grove, was arrested at 1:47 a.m. on June 21 at King Spa, 809 Civic Center Drive, and charged with domestic battery and criminal damage after reportedly punching a woman in the face, grabbing her phone and breaking a pair of glasses and the rear view mirror of a car.

Matthew Hall, 24, of the 100 block of Bradford Road in Joliet, and Venice D. Weekly, 29, of the 2100 block of Emerson Street in Evanston, were arrested around 8:30 p.m. on June 21 and charged with retail theft after stealing $159.06 worth of items from the Walmart at 5630 Touhy Ave.

Manuel A. Bustamante, 56, of the 3100 block of Lincoln Street in Franklin Park, was arrested at 5:17 p.m. on June 23 in the 7500 block of Waukegan Road and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after a report that he was chasing a woman around an apartment with a night. He was also cited for public intoxication and cost of emergency services.

Sandra J. Coriano, 53, of the 500 block of North 3rd Avenue in Des Plaines, was arrested at 2:28 a.m. on June 24 in the 8000 block of North Milwaukee Avenue and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a suspended or revoked license following a traffic stop for improper lane usage.

Adrian Velazquez, 24, of the 9400 block of Terrace Place in Des Plaines, was arrested at the Niles Police Department at 8:15 a.m. on June 25 and charged with domestic battery in connection with an investigation by Niles detectives into an earlier incident in which he reportedly struck a person several times.

Sean M. McGivern, 59, of the 9700 block of Dee Road in Des Plaines, was arrested at 10:43 p.m. on June 28 near the intersection of Dempster Street and Milwaukee Avenue and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and operating an uninsured motor vehicle causing bodily harm after police were called to the area for a report of a traffic crash with injuries.

Edward J. Chalabi, 75, of the 7900 block of North Caldwell Avenue in Niles, was arrested at 5:14 p.m. on June 29 and charged with aggravated battery and aggravated domestic battery after attacking an in-law before grabbing a gun and making violent threats.

Carlton R. Vincent, 56, of the 900 block of Bode Road in Elgin, was arrested at the Walmart, 5630 W. Touhy Ave., at 2:32 a.m. on June 30 and charged with retail theft and theft related devices after he was seen stealing two televisions worth $416.

Juan L. Valle, Jr., 33, of the 1900 block of Larabee Street in Chicago, was arrested at 5:48 a.m. on June 30 in the 8900 block of North Washington Street in Niles and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, criminal damage to property and unlawful use of a weapon – metal knuckles. Police were told he was inside his ex-partner's house breaking things, including the television. Valle reportedly raised a hammer, saying "I'll kill you." He was found to have brass knuckles in his pants when searched by officers.
