$1.8K Chanel Watch Goes Missing After Delivery: Northbrook PD Blotter
The resident believes someone stole it from her porch, according to police.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
ARRESTS
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
Stacy Shapiro, of Northbrook, is accused of failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash, driving under the influence, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 2:13 a.m. May 2, in the 1100 block of Sanders Road. Police said Shapiro, who was uninjured, had crashed a 2023 gray Kia into an electrical pole. A court date of June 16 was assigned.

BATTERY
Sherwin Harris, of Hoffman Estates, is accused of having no rear license plate, battery, obstructing a peace officer, illegally tinted front and side windows, illegal transportation of cannabis, and was arrested at 2:30 p.m. May 2, at Shermer Road and Valencia Drive. According to police, Harris had been pulled over in a 2005 white Acura, which had heavy rear end damage and was missing a rear license plate. Police said Harris quickly exited the vehicle and became argumentative with the officer. Harris had the rear plate on the rear seat but became argumentative about allowing the officer to see it. The officer asked for Harris’ identification, but Harris wouldn't take it out of his wallet. Harris made statements about leaving the traffic stop and became very aggressive toward the officers. During his arguing, Harris swung open his vehicle's car door into an officer, causing minor injuries. A court date of June 10 was assigned.

IDENTITY THEFT
A Prestwick Lane resident reported at 5:34 p.m. May 3, someone had hacked into her Apple account and made changes so she couldn't access it. The complainant stated the phone number and passwords had been changed. She contacted Apple, but they advised her they couldn’t change the account back to her and asked her to file a police report instead.
THEFT- A citizen called police at 8:57 a.m. May 6, to report she had eaten at a restaurant and hung her purse on the back of the chair. When she left, she realized someone had stolen her cell phone and wallet. Once she arrived home, she contacted her credit card companies. They advised her there had been unlawful transactions in Highland Park at the Target and Walgreens for over $1,300.
- A resident in the 800 block of Shannon Court called police at 6:21 p.m. May 6, to report she had ordered a Chanel watch on eBay for $1,853.03. The delivery company claimed they delivered it to her residence on April 16, but when she arrived home, the package was not there. The complainant believed someone stole it from her porch.
RETAIL THEFT
The loss prevention of staff at a retail store in the 800 block of Willow Road reported on May 6 that two days earlier, two a man and a woman had come into the store at different times. Both took items from the sales floor and brought them to the front counter to claim they had previously bought them and wanted a return. The female scammed the staff out of $307.96 and the male scammed the staff out of $167.97. The male also stole a table from the store valued at $499.99. They both fled the area in a white Chevrolet.
