10-12 Cellphones Stolen From T-Mobile Store: Blotter

Two men stole the cellphones and then fled the area: Northbrook Police Blotter.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

INCIDENTS

STOLEN AUTO

A person reported at 1:50 p.m. Oct. 1, their company utility trailer had been taken without permission by somebody in the 900 block of Dundee Road.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE

  • A resident in the 1100 block of Whitfield Road called police at 12:40 a.m. Oct. 2, to report someone was stealing the catalytic convertor from their neighbor’s vehicle. The complainant said one subject was under the vehicle with a tool while a second subject was inside a waiting vehicle. The subject that was under the vehicle grabbed their tools and ran to the waiting vehicle that then left the area.
  • A person called police at 5:05 p.m. Oct. 4, to report someone removed the catalytic convertor from their vehicle in the 1000 block of Midway.

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES

A person reported at 11:48 a.m. Oct. 2, they purchased an art piece through an auction held at The Sheraton Hotel, 1100 block of Willow Road. The person reported that they now believe that the seller misrepresented the authenticity of the item to the complainant at the time of the sale. Complainant was advised to consult a professional to verify or deny their suspicions.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

A person called police at 5:54 p.m. Oct. 3, to report someone rode a bicycle through wet concrete numerous times at Willow and Greenview roads.

RETAIL THEFT

  • An employee at T-Mobile, 100 block of Skokie Boulevard, reported at 11:21 a.m. Oct. 4, two males removed 10-12 cellphones from the store without paying them. The two fled the area in a vehicle.
  • An employee at Louis Vuitton, 1500 block of Lake Cook Road, called police at 6:45 p.m. Oct. 5, to report 6-8 males entered the store, grabbed a large quantity of handbags, and then departed the store into waiting vehicles. Investigation is ongoing. Read more here.

THEFT

An employee at North Suburban Center for Oral Surgery, 1200 block of Meadow Road, reported at 6:18 p.m. Oct. 4, a former employee had not returned several items that were the property of the business. The former employee was contacted by the reporting officer and agreed to return the items the following day.

THEFT OF LOST/MISLAID PROPERTY

A person called police to report they lost their wallet between 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Oct. 5, while at Northbrook Dog Park, 2400 block of Dundee Road.

BURGLARY

A person reported at 4 p.m. Oct. 6 various tools had been taken from Eataco, 1300 block of Meadow Road, without permission. The person believes someone they know may have been responsible. Investigation pending.

DISPUTE

A person called police at 11:32 a.m. Oct. 6, to report that while they were walking their dog and pushing a stroller on the sidewalk at Greenview Park, 2400 block of Greenview Road, another person was doing yard work. Complainant stated that due to there being tools in the way of the sidewalk, they had to partially walk on this subject’s lawn. A brief verbal exchange between the complainant and the subject ensued between the two parties.

DISTURBANCE

An employee of Leonides Cafe, 1300 block of Shermer Road, reported at 10:51 a.m. Oct. 7, that someone started a disturbance when a solicitor came into the business to sell masks to the owner. Complainant asked the person to leave the café, but they refused. The person left after being advised by officers that they were no longer welcome at the café.
